Final Exam Guidelines

These guidelines were established to ensure that students receive the full set of instructional class periods for which they paid and are entitled to and that they have the appropriate amount of time to prepare adequately for final examinations.
  • A final examination will be given in each credit course at Parkland College. In courses where a final examination is not appropriate, an educational alternative will be scheduled during the week of final examinations.
  • In all full-semester and second half-semester courses a final examination will be given during final examination week according to the schedule below. No final examinations will be given early during regular class periods.
  • In courses with the last regularly scheduled class meeting prior to the semester's end, including courses that only meet during the first half of the semester, a final examination will be given at the last regularly scheduled class meeting.
  • Three examinations scheduled for the same day may be considered a conflict. Conflicts may be resolved by arrangement with the faculty.
  • Grades will be posted according to the schedule listed in the college catalog.
