Program Goals & Effectiveness Data

GOALS and MISSION
The mission of the program is to graduate students with entry-level employment skills to perform quality radiographic examinations with minimal exposure to patients and personnel, including effective communication skills and respect for patients’ dignity.

The program goals and student learning outcomes (SLO):

  • GOAL: Students will be clinically competent.
    SLO: Students will master entry-level skills in positioning, technique selection and radiation protection.
  • GOAL: Students will demonstrate communication skills.
    SLO: Students will utilize effective communication skills , both oral and written, with patients and staff.
  • GOAL: Students will develop critical thinking skills.
    SLO: Students will adapt standard procedures for non-routine patients to obtain high quality radiographic images.
  • GOAL: Students will be active life-long learners.
    SLO: Students will participate in activities that promote professional growth and life-long learning.
  • GOAL: Students will model professionalism.
    SLO: Students will demonstrate professional behavior that exemplifies professionalism in healthcare.

  • ARRT Pass Rate 5-Year Average (2012-2016) - 96%
    Benchmark 75% first attempt within 6 months of graduation
    2016:  93% pass rate - 14 of 14 graduates    *1 grad did not pass on 1st attempt
  • 2015:   92% pass rate - 11 of 12 graduates **1 graduate has not taken the exam
    2014: 100% pass rate -  9  of   9 graduates
    2013: 100% pass rate - 11 of 11 graduates
    2012: 100% pass rate - 11 of 11 graduates
