How much does the program cost?
  • Tuition (NAS 111)
    Six credit hours of tuition and fees. Click here for current tuition and fee listing
  • Course fee of $170 includes:
    Livescan background check
    State exam
    Electronic repository clinical requirements documentation
  • Other costs not included in tuition and course fee:
    Textbook: Hedman, S. A., Fuzy, J.,& Rymer, S. (2014). Hartman’s Nursing Assistant Care: Long-Term Care, 2nd Ed. Albuquerque, NM: Hartman Publishing.
    Workbook
    Scrubs for clinical (color to be determined after first week of class)
    White shoes for clinical
    Wristwatch with a second hand
    Students must provide own transportation to clinical site

When do I have to complete a background check?
All students are required to complete a background check within 10 working days after the first day of class. Authorization forms will need to be signed the first day of class.

I had a background check several years ago for working in childcare. Will I have to get another background check?
Most likely, yes. Check with your instructor or program director.
 
How long is my CNA certification in effect?
You must be employed as a CNA providing paid nursing or nursing-related services to retain certification. Certification expires after 24 consecutive months without paid employment.
